  • —**Sign in through your browser** — Connecting your Music for Breathwork account no longer asks for your email and password inside Limina Studio. Click "Sign in with Music for Breathwork" and a browser window opens where you approve access on musicforbreathwork.com — the same place you already sign in, with your password manager and any two-step verification you use. Limina Studio never sees your password, and if you're already signed in on the site it's a single click to authorize. You can revoke access at any time from your account settings.
  • —**"Find or add on Music for Breathwork"** — The catalogue lookup on a track, and the header of its search dialog, now read "Find or add" to make clear you can add a track to the catalogue from here, not just find an existing match.
v1.2.0
August 8, 2026
  • —**Dragging files in from Finder works again** — Dropping audio files onto the timeline, and dropping folders onto the Library or Home, had silently stopped working after the Electron 43 update (the file path was no longer being read). Drag-and-drop from Finder is fully restored across the app.
  • —**"File missing" now clears itself when the file comes back** — A track flagged as missing — because its file was briefly unreadable or an online-only cloud file that hadn't finished downloading — used to stay marked missing until you restarted or rebuilt it by hand. Limina now re-checks flagged tracks whenever you return to the window and brings the waveform back on its own once the file is readable.
  • —**Add tracks straight to your session queue** — Right-click one or more tracks in the Library and choose "Add to Session" to append them to the end of the Up Next queue, alongside the existing "Add to Mix".
  • —**Library search sticks around** — Your search text in the Library is now kept when you switch over to Mix and back, instead of being cleared every time.
  • —**Select-all and delete work in every text box** — Cmd/Ctrl+A now selects the text in any input or search field, and Backspace/Delete clears it, instead of those keys being intercepted by app shortcuts.
  • —**Re-read a track's tags from the file** — The clip properties panel has a new "Re-read tags from file" action that pulls artist and album straight from the file on disk, fixing tracks left showing the wrong album. Unlinking a Music for Breathwork match no longer strands that match's album or artwork on the track.
  • —**Track Listing PDF keeps its colours** — Exported track-listing PDFs now render their shaded headers and rows instead of coming out plain white.
  • —**Steadier on stray file drops** — Accidentally dropping a file onto an empty part of the window can no longer blank the app until restart.
v1.1.1
August 8, 2026
  • —**Fixed waveforms not coming back after Rebuild or Relink** — When a track's file was empty or offline, rebuilding its waveform or pointing the clip at a good file sometimes did nothing until you restarted the app. The waveform now reappears immediately once a valid file is found, with no restart needed.
  • —**Broken tracks are now clearly flagged** — A file that can't be read (zero-byte, corrupt, or an offline cloud placeholder) now shows the red "File missing" placeholder with a Locate option, instead of sitting on the timeline as a blank clip with no explanation.
v1.1.0
August 6, 2026
  • —**Your mixes are now self-contained projects** — Saving a mix creates a project folder that keeps the session and its audio together, so a mix stays intact when you move it, back it up, or hand it to someone else. "Save" makes the project folder the first time and updates it after that; "Save As New Project…" makes a fresh copy. "Collect Project Files" gathers every track used into the project so nothing depends on scattered originals. The old loose single-file save has been retired in favour of this safer default.
  • —**Mixes survive moved or missing files** — If a track's source file has moved or gone offline, its clip no longer breaks the layout or stalls playback. It stays in place as a clearly-marked placeholder, playback simply skips it, and you can point it back at the file with "Locate…" / "Relink File…". When a file is missing from its original spot but present in the project's files folder, Limina reconnects it automatically. Clips that were saved with an unknown length are also healed back to their full duration on load.
  • —**A tidier File menu** — Exporting to WAV and MP3 is now a single "Export Mix…" that lets you pick the format, and the less-used actions are grouped into "Share" (Collect Files, Export Project as ZIP, Track Listing PDF) and "Utilities" (Rebuild Waveforms, Export Waveform Data) submenus.
  • —**Sharper waveforms when you zoom in** — Waveforms are now extracted at a higher resolution and drawn per screen pixel, so zooming deep into a clip stays crisp instead of turning blocky and blurry.
  • —**Rebuild Waveforms reports what actually happened** — Instead of always claiming success, it now tells you how many waveforms were rebuilt, how many had no audio data, and how many failed — so a folder of offline files is obvious at a glance.
  • —**Finer clip placement** — Dragging a clip on the timeline no longer snaps to a coarse half-second grid. Placement is now as fine as your current zoom allows, so you can line clips up exactly where you want them.
  • —**Add tracks to a mix straight from the Library** — Select one or more library tracks and use "Add to Mix" to drop them into your current mix, with a quick confirmation of what was added.
  • —**Mix cues on your clips** — The clip properties panel now shows intro/outro cue points, so you can mark where a track really gets going and where it starts winding down — handy when arranging crossfades.
  • —**Better Adobe Audition (.sesx) import** — Clip volume envelopes drawn in Audition are now imported as proper volume automation, so a mix brought over from Audition sounds the way it did there.
  • —**Under the hood** — Updated to Electron 43, and the developer inspector opens automatically in development builds.
v1.0.4
July 19, 2026
  • —**Open the indexing log any time** — The Music for Breathwork indexing log used to be reachable only while indexing was actively running; once it finished, there was no way back in to review what matched. It now lives in your account menu (top-right, when signed in), so you can reopen it whenever you like — with a count of any matches still waiting to be applied.
  • —**Library keeps itself in sync with your folders** — Limina now rescans your watched folders automatically when it finishes loading and each time you bring the window back into focus. Files you added while the app was closed or in the background show up on their own — no manual rescan needed. It's a cheap diff that only reads genuinely new files, and nothing you or the catalogue curated is touched.
  • —**Signing in is clearly optional** — The Music for Breathwork sign-in dialog now marks itself "optional" and offers a plain "Skip for now" button, so it's obvious you can go straight to working with your own files without an account.
v1.0.3
July 19, 2026
  • —**Drag from Up Next straight to Now Playing** — You can once again drag a track out of the Up Next queue and drop it onto the Now Playing area to play it immediately. Limina fades to that track and skips ahead, discarding anything queued before it — the same as double-clicking it.
  • —**Larger sign-in window** — The Music for Breathwork sign-in dialog was cramped against the app window. It's now bigger, with more readable text and roomier fields.
v1.0.2
July 18, 2026
  • —**Returning users no longer see the new-user setup on launch** — Limina Studio opens on Home, but your library and sign-in were only restored once you visited the Library screen. On restart that left Home briefly showing the "sign in / add music" onboarding steps even though a real library and login already existed. The catalogue and session are now loaded up front, so your library and account are recognised immediately on every launch.
v1.0.1
July 18, 2026
  • —**Collections — track details & find-on-disk** — Click any track in a playlist, template, or recorded session to open its details panel. A playlist track that isn't in your library yet opens a panel where you can search your disk and link the local file.
  • —**Fixed "Show in Library"** — Right-clicking a playlist track and choosing "Show in Library" now reliably switches to the Library and reveals the track, instead of blanking the view.
  • —**Session Mode** — The tag / Feel-EQ "Add to queue" button now matches the playlist button's style and sits neatly to the right of its row.
v1.0.0
July 18, 2026
  • —**Limina Studio 1.0 — your library, session player, and multitrack mixer, unified.**
  • —Limina Mix is now part of **Limina Studio**: one app that takes you from an unorganised folder of audio files all the way to a finished breathwork set. Your existing library and sessions carry over automatically on first launch — nothing to re-scan or re-match.
  • —**Library** — Point Limina at your music folders and it scans, organises, and matches your tracks against the Music for Breathwork catalogue, unlocking phase tags, colour coding, and audio features. Drop a folder in, and matching runs in the background.
  • —**Session Mode** — Run a live, tag-driven set with automatic equal-power crossfades. Steer the mix by tags and feel, skip and reshape on the fly, and record what you play to replay or refine later.
  • —**Mix Mode** — Everything the standalone Limina Mix did, now under the same roof: arrange tracks on a timeline, set crossfades, and export a single finished audio file.
  • —**Collections** — Your Music for Breathwork playlists, session templates, recorded sessions, and saved mixes, all in one place.
  • —New users are eased in step by step: connect a Music for Breathwork account (optional — you can skip it), add a music folder by drag-and-drop, apply catalogue matches, then try Session and Mix Mode.
  • —On first launch, Limina Studio automatically imports your existing library from the previous app. Your folders, matches, tags, and recorded sessions come with you.
  • —Recorded sessions now live in Collections with full session timelines, tracklist export, and "save as template".
  • —Collections remembers the last playlist, template, or session you were viewing.
  • —Plus the accumulated fixes and refinements from the 0.9.x line.
v0.9.5
July 4, 2026
  • —**Windows audio playback fixed** — Clip playback and preview produced no sound on Windows because the internal audio stream URL was built assuming a Unix-style file path, so the drive letter fused onto the server port and backslashes corrupted the path. Windows paths are now normalised correctly. macOS is unaffected.
v0.9.4
May 27, 2026
  • —Shows automatically on first launch after each update
  • —Lists changes for the current version with previous versions collapsible below
  • —Dismissing saves the version to localStorage — won't show again until the next update
  • —WAV exports are now 24-bit (pcm_s24le) instead of 16-bit — preserves the full dynamic range of modern audio sources
v0.9.2
May 24, 2026
  • —**Library re-linking improvements** — Clips that couldn't be matched to Limina Library (because files were moved, duplicates removed, or exported as WAV) now auto-link on session load. Matching is extension-agnostic, handles apostrophe stripping, and recognises WAV exports with sample-rate suffixes (e.g. `48000 1`).
  • —**Re-link from Library** — New right-click option on any clip to manually trigger a Library lookup.
v0.9.1
May 24, 2026
  • —v0.9.1 — Library re-linking improvements
  • —- Smarter Library re-linking — clips that couldn't be matched to the Limina Library (because files were moved,
  • —duplicates removed, or exported as WAV) now auto-link on session load using filename fallback matching
  • —- Re-link from Library — new right-click option on any clip to manually trigger a Library lookup
  • —- Filename matching handles: moved files (path-agnostic), apostrophe stripping, format changes (.m4a → .wav),
  • —and WAV export suffixes like 48000 1
v0.9.0
May 24, 2026
  • —**Clip interaction redesign** — Double-click or click the label pill to open clip properties. Album art thumbnail shown in the clip label when available. Properties no longer open on single click, eliminating accidental panel opens during drag.
v0.8.5
May 24, 2026
  • —**Transport bar height fix** — The bottom transport bar was too short after the v0.8.3 redesign. Height restored to 66px with a larger album art thumbnail.
v0.8.4
May 24, 2026
  • —**Audio playback fix** — Suppressed a spurious console error that appeared when seeking or stopping while a clip was loading. The `AbortError` from interrupting a pending `play()` call is expected behaviour and no longer logged.
v0.8.3
May 24, 2026
  • —**Properties panel redesigned** — Clip properties now open as a right-side drawer that slides in when you click a clip, rather than a fixed strip at the bottom. More vertical space means album art, track info, gain controls, and MFB data all have room to breathe. Drag a clip without it opening; only a deliberate click opens the panel.
  • —**Library integration** — When a file is added or dragged into Mix, it is automatically looked up against Limina Library's catalogue. If the track has been matched in Library, its MFB title, artist, album art, tags, and breathwork phase are applied to the clip immediately with no extra steps.
  • —**Find on MFB** — For clips not in Library, the properties panel now has a "Find on MFB" button. It pre-fills a search from the filename and lets you pick the correct track from results. No login required to search.
  • —**Transport bar redesigned** — True three-column layout: time display and album art thumbnail on the left, transport buttons perfectly centred, master volume on the right. The thumbnail is clickable to open the Now Playing overlay.
  • —**Version and update status in transport bar** — The version number sits at the bottom right of the transport bar. Click it to check for updates; it shows checking, up to date, download progress, and a restart prompt when an update is ready. Update status is also in File → Check for Updates.
v0.8.2
May 16, 2026
  • —**Open Recent in app menu** — File → Open Recent now appears in the native macOS menu bar and updates automatically when sessions are saved or opened
  • —**Open Recent flyout in File dropdown** — the in-app File menu now has a hover flyout showing your 5 most recent sessions with full paths
  • —**Save dialog uses session name** — when saving for the first time, the dialog now defaults to the session label you set rather than `session.limina`
  • —**Rebuild Waveforms / Export Waveform Data in File menu** — these developer tools are now accessible from the in-app File dropdown, not just the macOS menu bar
  • —**Fixed clip drop position when timeline is scrolled** — dropping a file onto a scrolled timeline was placing clips too far to the right due to scroll offset being counted twice; clips now land exactly where you drop them
  • —**Fixed waveform quality on file drop** — dropped clips were always rendered with a fixed low peak count regardless of zoom level; they now match the quality of a manual waveform rebuild
  • —**Fixed waveform quality after zooming** — waveforms were not being re-fetched when zoom changed (the Zustand subscription was silently broken); waveforms now automatically re-render at the correct density 300ms after a zoom change
v0.8.1
May 14, 2026
  • —**Sharper waveforms** — Waveform extraction now reads at 48 kHz (was 8 kHz) and renders a true two-sided min/max envelope. Fade-ins and quiet passages no longer look quantized into blocky steps. Memory stays bounded regardless of clip length thanks to a streaming bucket extractor.
  • —**File → Rebuild Waveforms** — New menu item clears every cached waveform in the session and re-extracts at the current zoom. Useful after the resolution upgrade above, or any time a waveform looks wrong.
  • —**File → Export Waveform Data…** — Dump the cached peak data for every clip (with file metadata) to a JSON file for troubleshooting. One file, easy to share.
v0.8.0
May 9, 2026
  • —**Markers removed** — Markers have been removed from the timeline. Segments cover the same organisational need with a cleaner workflow; use segments to label and divide your session.
  • —**Tracklist PDF grouped by segment** — The PDF export now groups tracks under their containing segment, with H:MM:SS timestamp display for sessions longer than an hour.
v0.7.8
May 7, 2026
  • —**Check for updates button** — a new "Check for updates" link next to the version number in the properties panel lets you trigger an update check on demand. Shows "Up to date" if there's nothing new
v0.7.7
May 7, 2026
  • —**Update download progress** — the footer now shows the download percentage while an update is downloading (e.g. "Downloading update 42%") so it's clear the app isn't stuck.
v0.7.6
May 7, 2026
  • —**Fix auto-updater** — previous releases were missing `latest-mac.yml` so the built-in update checker couldn't detect new versions. Now generated correctly after notarization with accurate file hashes.
v0.7.5
May 7, 2026
  • —**Update ready link** — when a new version has been downloaded, the footer now shows "Update ready — restart to install" as a clickable link. Clicking it quits and installs immediately rather than waiting for the next manual quit.
v0.7.4
May 7, 2026
  • —**Consistent waveform detail at all zoom levels** — peaks are now fetched at 1 peak/pixel based on the current zoom level, so a short clip and a long clip look equally detailed side by side. Peaks automatically re-fetch when you zoom in or out.
v0.7.3
May 6, 2026
  • —**Update progress indicator** — a spinner appears next to the version number (bottom-right) while a new version is downloading in the background. Once ready, it turns indigo with an ↑ arrow and a tooltip confirming it'll install on next launch.
v0.7.2
May 6, 2026
  • —**Update notification** — when a new version is downloaded silently in the background, a toast now appears: "Update vX.X.X downloaded — will install on next launch".
v0.7.0
6 May 2025
  • —Drag tracks directly from Limina Library into a Mix session — drop onto any track at the right position on the timeline
  • —Right-click any track lane to paste an audio file path copied from Finder or Limina Library
  • —App renamed from Limina Studio to Limina Mix
v0.6.0
3 May 2025
  • —Clips automatically normalize to -0.5 dBFS when loaded — every track starts at a consistent level without manual gain adjustments
  • —Per-track VU meters redesigned with 32-segment teal-to-red gradient, peak hold indicators, and dB reference marks; click the meter to reset the peak hold
  • —Master output meter updated with the same improvements — accurate clip detection with a dedicated indicator at the top
  • —Clip filename labels are now sticky — they stay visible when the clip's left edge scrolls off-screen, so you always know what's on the timeline
  • —New Focus button in the toolbar — zooms to 30 px/s and centres the view on the playhead, ideal for locating your position in a long session
  • —Transport controls are now perfectly centred; time elapsed and master volume fader are pinned to the sides for a cleaner layout
  • —Master volume fader moved to the bottom transport bar for quicker access
v0.5.3
2 May 2025
  • —Timeline ruler and transport now display time as H:MM:SS — better suited to 3-hour breathwork sets
  • —Collect Project Files now rebuilds waveforms for any tracks that were moved, so they no longer appear blank after collection
  • —Collect Project Files shows a confirmation with the number of files moved
  • —Right-click any clip to Rebuild Waveform — useful if a waveform failed to load or appears blank
v0.5.0
2 May 2025
  • —AUTO gain button — scans a clip's peak level and sets the clip gain so it hits -0.5 dBFS, giving a consistent starting point before mixing
  • —Brickwall limiter on export — prevents clipping when crossfading clips that both peak near 0 dBFS
  • —Export fade curves now exactly match playback — the per-clip power-law curve shape is reproduced in ffmpeg rather than using a generic linear fade
v0.3.0
1 May 2025
  • —Limina Mix is now signed with a Developer ID and notarised by Apple — installs cleanly on any Mac without Gatekeeper warnings
v0.1.0
April 29, 2026
  • —Initial Release of the Limina Studio App
